“Team Bahamas V-ball Picks Up Wins in Suriname”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas men’s and women’s volleyball teams both picked up wins in Paramaribo. The men’s team made their tournament debut against Curaçao.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS -The Bahamas men’s and women’s volleyball teams both picked up wins in Paramaribo, Suriname.  

The men’s team made their tournament debut against Curaçao yesterday, defeating them in four sets. Eugene Stuart led the way with 16 points. Kyle Wilson was right behind him with 15. 

The win comes on the heels of the women’s Sunday victory against Suriname. 

We just got the news that the men’s volleyball team beat Trinidad in five sets today. Kyle Wilson had 20 points. The women played T&T as well.

He won his heat at the FINA world championships in Japan, almost setting a record along the way.  

Taylor came first in the 5th heat of the 50m fly in a time of 23.91, two-tenths of a second off of the national record set by Elvis Vereance Burrows.  

Zaylie Elizabeth Thompson also competed in the 50m butterfly and the 200m medley. 

Jonquell Jones balled out to help her New York Liberty pick up a couple of wins over the weekend.  

The post player from Grand Bahama dropped 27 points and 11 rebounds on Friday as they beat the Washington Mystics 96-87.  

She followed that up with 18 and 11 in a 101-83 romp against the Indiana fever on Sunday, helping the Liberty score 44 points in the first quarter, the most points scored in a quarter in the league’s 26-year history.
