GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – With cases of attacks on women and children grabbing headlines, knowing how to protect yourself and your child in threatening situations is key.

Sensei Dwayne King says there are two types of extremes when it comes to parenting. There are parents that overly coddle their children and on the opposite end, parents that push their kids to be overly street smart. 

But the key he says is to teach children about their surroundings and their right to protect themselves.

In a society constantly distracted by technology, Sensei King says even into adulthood, vigilance remains an important skill.

And to his male counterparts that are perpetrating these acts against women and children, he had this to say.
