NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Ahead of this Mother’s Day, we hear from the mothers that bring you the news here every night.

With news being the demanding industry that it is, the mothers of Our News tell us it’s important to find that balance.

The world of journalism is demanding and very time-consuming, add to that being a mother, it can make an already taxing job harder.

Jasmin Brown had now seven-year-old Reagan Brown back in 2016 ahead of the 2017 General Election.

When she returned from maternity leave she dove straight back into work, not missing a beat.

Italia Hall is the newest mother of our news; her son Saint is 12-months-old. She says it was easy finding that balance.

Producer Tanya Smith-Cartwright tells a bit of a different tale.

When she started in news back at the Nassau Guardian. She describes having a village as she entered motherhood.

Despite the challenges though, these women continue to defy the odds and trailblaze in the industry.

We asked two of them what advice they would give to young mothers struggling to find the balance between motherhood and a demanding career.
