NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After a disappointing 3rd place finish at the Boxing Day Parade, the Shell Saxons Superstars are ready to rise from the ashes and regain their position as champions.

The drums that once rested on the Arawak Cay site heated by a bone fire, were strapped to the shoulders of dozens of group members rushing down Bay Street during the 2025 Boxing Day Junkanoo Parade.

The result of those melodies was a third place finish with 553 points.

For Boxing Day, their theme was “A Parade of Nations: Echoes of War, Voices of Peace, and for New Year’s Day the group is holding on to faith that their theme “The Crusaders: The Divine Battle of Salvation” will be their song of redemption.

Backline chairman for the group, Craig Curtis, told us that their music is one element they are seeking always to improve.

Craig Curtis – Chairman, Shell Saxon Superstars Backline

“We can’t be doing business as usual, we know that everybody else is going to up their game, so we intend to up ours”

In the Junkanoo community, it is being said that the Saxons started preparing for the New Year’s Day before the Doxing Day Parade.

We were unable to get confirmation from the group on the rumor.

However one thing’s certain, there’s a build up of anticipation for their arrival to the New Year’s Day Parade, from spectators and rival groups.

At the group’s final practice for the season, frontline chairman, Gary Ganna told us the preparation for the parades is what makes the culture so sweet.
