Turkey Quake Survivors Alive After 72 Hours

TURKEY – Search and rescue operations in quake-hit Turkish cities continued overnight and in the early hours on Thursday with rescuers pulling people out alive from the rubble, despite hopes fading for survivors.

The collective death toll in Turkey and Syria jumping to some 20,000, according to the government and a rescue service in the rebel-held northwest.

While rescuers raced against time to find survivors, public criticism has mounted over a lack of equipment, expertise and support in rescue efforts.
