NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 20-year-old has been arraigned for murder after his friend’s body was found in a garbage bag inside a car in Centerville.

Normand Toussaint appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt in connection with the August 15 murder of 21-year-old Omar Davis Jr.

Davis’ relatives wept as the magistrate read the charge.

Davis Jr’s body was found on August 16 in a garbage bag in a vacant lot at the rear of the Centerville Food Store.

Toussaint did not show any emotion.

Toussaint was not required to enter a plea to the charge.

He was remanded to prison because the magistrate lacks the authority to grant bail.

Toussaint returns to court on December 27.
