NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The World Famous Valley Boys Junkanoo Group is proud to announce a new mentorship partnership with C.I. Gibson Senior High School’s Music Department, aimed at supporting and nurturing the next generation of Junkanoo musicians.

A special meet and greet to mark the beginning of the collaboration took place today at 1pm at C. I. Gibson, where members of the Valley Boys were warmly welcomed by the school community.

This exciting initiative reflects the Valley Boys’ ongoing commitment to cultural preservation, youth development, and musical excellence. As one of the most celebrated groups in the history of Junkanoo, the Valley Boys are now extending their legacy by investing in the future through mentorship, hands-on training, and guidance.

The students of C.I. Gibson—already known for their talent and dedication as reigning Junior Junkanoo Music Champions—were visibly excited and energized by the opportunity to learn from seasoned members of the group.

Smiles and laughter filled the room as introductions were made and anticipation for what’s ahead began to build.

“..we want to convey a very special thank you to members of the Valley Boys for stopping by and paying a courtesy visit. We hope to continue our efforts in molding the nation’s future by way of cultural expression and our continued support in our Junior Junkanoo program” said Carlano Bain, an esteemed educator at C.I. Gibson, and a proud member of the World Famous Valley Boys’ Brass section.

The Membership & Welfare Committee of the World Famous Valley Boys spearheaded the partnership, seeing it as a vital opportunity to bridge the gap between young talent and the wider Junkanoo community.

A special thank you to Principal Chavez Rutherford and her team of stellar administrators and teachers for making this partnership happen. The members of the World Famous Valley Boys are eager to pass on the rich traditions and spirit of Junkanoo to the next generation.
