WEST GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – With just hours to go before voters head to the polls, the Our News team travelled through several communities in West Grand Bahama Monday afternoon to get a sense of how residents are feeling ahead of election day.

While opinions vary, several residents shared a common concern, telling us they believe West Grand Bahama has been neglected for years, with successive governments failing to address the needs of the people.

However, for resident Charles Adderley, the decision is clear, as he says he will be voting for the Progressive Liberal Party, believing candidate Kingsley Smith deserves more time to deliver on promises and bring meaningful change to the area.

Meanwhile, for West End native, Dorothy Strachan, she says residents are tired of the conditions in the community, and that she’s confident that the Coalition of Independents will win the election.

West Grand Bahama is just one of five constituencies on Grand Bahama, with more than 5,000 registered voters, so that means the voices of residents there could play a significant role in deciding the outcome of this election.
