NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There are 80 traffic lights throughout New Providence and so far 69 of them have been upgraded.

That’s according to Sign Department Superintendent David Moxey. He says the upgrades are all a part of turning New Providence into a smart city.

Moxey says it allows members of his department to address outages faster.

In the event of outages, he says alerts are sent to their cell phones but there’s still work to be done.

Moxey tells us the journey to this point has been challenging but rewarding.
