NASSAU, BAHAMAS – At the House of Assembly, the debate wraps up on the resolution increasing to $260 a week.

Labour Minister Keith Bell telling Parliament work on the livable wage has started.

It’s a promise made in Progressive Liberal Party’s blueprint for change.

This increase is seen as a step towards a livable wage.

Bell reveals that he and Public Service State Minister Pia Glover-Rolle received recommendations from The local Chapter of Human Resources Managers.

With House approval, the resolution heads to the Senate to make way for the weekly $50 increase.
