GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Becoming a lifeguard just became easier thanks to a new certification program hosted by The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and the YMCA in Grand Bahama.

Benito Rolle and Eltoro Johnson are two of eight young men now in training in Grand Bahama to become the next set of certified lifeguards on the northern island.

They will also undergo first aid, cpr and accident and emergency training as well.

Once certified, the internships where the young men are placed will hopefully permanently employ them.

Deputy Director of Sports in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Norris Bain explains.
