NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has set bail at $15,000 for an expectant mother accused of human trafficking.

Thirty-five-year-old Jamaican national Appolonia McClain has been in custody since July.

Prosecutors allege that McClain, who’s married to a Bahamian, lured another woman to The Bahamas, kept her passport, and forced her into prostitution.

The crimes allegedly took place between September 1, 2023, and November 3, 2023.

As a condition of bail, McClain has to surrender her travel documents, keep a curfew and sign in at the Elizabeth Estates Police Station.

She’s also prohibited from contacting witnesses in the case directly or indirectly.
