CANADA – Nine arrests have been made in connection to last year’s $14.77 million gold heist at Toronto Pearson International airport.

Only six gold bracelets worth $65,000 have been recovered so far. Police believe the stolen gold was melted down, sold, and profits used for illegal firearms trafficking.

Over $312,000 in cash was seized, along with smelting equipment, as well as lists detailing distribution of profits found.

Investigators say cooperation with U.S. authorities led to one arrest, while a former Air Canada employee is still being sought.
