Murder Accused To Be Granted Bail If His Trial Doesn’t Begin In May

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of two murders, two attempted murders and an armed robbery will be granted bail if his trial doesn’t begin in May, a judge has ruled.

Braheem Charlton has been in custody since August 2021.

Justice Neil Brathwaite ruled that it would not be just to further detained Charlton if his trial does not proceed through no fault of his own.

He’s accused of the August 9, 2021 murder of Dino Brown and the attempted murder of Dennis Bowles.

The men were ambushed by gunmen who emerged from a grey SUV in front of a home off Marshall Road.

Charlton is also accused of killing Immigration Officer Laneisha Armbrister and trying to kill Drazen Dean.

Armbrister was killed when gunmen opened fire on their vehicle on August 14, 2021 in Victoria Gardens.

Charlton is also accused of robbing a man of the vehicle that was used in both shootings.
