Bahamians In Canada Keeping Close Eye on Election Outcome
CANADA – After weeks of intense campaigning across provinces and territories, Canada’s Federal Election came to a close on Monday.

Unofficial results show that Liberal Party Leader Mark Carney will remain prime minister.
Key issues on the minds of Canadian voters included the rising cost of living, immigration policies, taxes, U.S. tariffs and healthcare.
Canada has long served as a second home for many Bahamians, from students and skilled workers to entire families who have migrated over the decades.
Bahamian Canadian David Geraldo Frazer says for many Bahamians living in Canada, the outcome of the election is personal. While they may not have had the right to vote, many are directly impacted.
Affordability, he says, remains a top concern as well.
Another major concern leading up to the election – U.S. President Donald Trump.
Frazer, who supports the Liberals and the LGBT community, says early forecasts showed that the conservatives would win.
