Grenada Moves To Amend Marijuana Legislation

GRENADA – Grenada is moving to decriminalize marijuana use but with strict limits.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell says the plan allows adults 21 and over to use small amounts for recreational, medicinal, or religious purposes but not in public or near schools.

The bill will also clear past convictions for minor possession and create a licensing system for a medicinal cannabis industry.

Mitchell says it’s about smart reform, not a free-for-all, and assures police won’t be chasing anyone over a single spliff.
