Separation Opportunities For Atlantis Employees

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Atlantis Resort is moving forward with voluntary separation packages for employees, and according to a letter from President and Managing Director, Audrey Oswell to team members, the opportunity would be offered to a limited number of employees on a voluntary basis.

Our News understands the packages were initially only designed for foreign workers, but Bahamians were also a part of the process.

At this time, it’s unclear how many people were a part of the exercise.

This comes as the hotel prepares to temporarily close its Coral Towers after August 17th.

The Executive Vice-President of Administration and Strategic Initiatives told the Tribune newspaper that it was consistent with actions taken in prior years during the slower part of the tourism calendar.

In an email dated June 10th, 2025, Oswell said, “the opportunity is voluntary and available to team members who meet specific eligibility criteria, such as length of service and/or role within the organization.”

Another email to employees outlined the process and how to apply.

The email also reveals employees “will receive communication from HR advising of your status on or before July 25, 2025:”

An email to all supervisors and above, from the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, says eligible employees include all team members levels 2-7.

It also outlines package details for approved team members.

In category 1, age 60-64 or level 2-7, employees would receive a $4,000 retirement gift, accrued, unused, vacation time, four weeks payment per year of service – prorated up to a capped amount of 48 weeks, and an additional payment of four weeks salary.

In category 2, employees under 60 years old would receive accrued, unused, vacation time, four weeks payment per year of service – prorated up to a capped amount of 48 weeks, and an additional payment of four weeks salary.
