10th Year Seniors

The national team aims to finish among the top three to advance to next year’s Centrobasket Women’s Championship. Leading the roster are former Division I standouts Lashan Higgs and Valarie Nesbitt, supported by Sha-Londa Neely, Latoya Rolle, Michell Butler, Taronya Wildgoose, La’Tavia BraynEN, Mikayah Tucker, Judy Forbes, Tatyana Lockhart, and Kayla Bein.

Head Coach Donnie Culmer leads the bench alongside assistants Anthony Swaby, Diasti Delancy, and newcomer Kino Burrows.

Team Bahamas faces Suriname on Thursday at 4:30 PM, Jamaica on Friday at 8:30 PM, rests Saturday, and wraps up group play Sunday against the U.S. Virgin Islands at 4:30 PM.

Don’t Blink Home Run Derby Returns for Year Eight

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Don’t Blink Home Run Derby in Paradise returns this December for its eighth edition, blending sports tourism, entertainment, and community impact.

Founded by Todd Isaacs Jr. and Lucius Fox, the four-day event runs from December 10–14, featuring a Kids Camp at the Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium, a Celebrity Golf Tournament at Baha Mar, a Celebrity Softball Game, and the highly anticipated Home Run Derby at Montagu Beach, transforming it into “Don’t Blink Island.”

The event continues to grow as a global showcase of Bahamian baseball and youth development.

Bahamian Basketball Stars Shine in NCAA Play

Bahamian athletes are off to strong starts in the NCAA Division I basketball season.

AJ Storr scored 10 points for Ole Miss in an 83–77 win over Memphis, averaging 15.7 points per game while shooting 8-for-11 from three-point range.

At Murray State, Fred King tallied 10 points and eight rebounds in a 102–91 loss to SMU, while Paul Green added seven points and five rebounds to help UMBC edge Morgan State 81–79.
