UNITED STATES – The Powerball jackpot surged to an estimated $1 billion last night after no one matched all the numbers in Wednesday’s drawing.

It marks the second billion-dollar Powerball jackpot this year and the 7th largest in the game’s history.

The winning numbers were 10, 16, 29, 33 and 69, with Powerball 22. With no jackpot winner since September 6th, when tickets in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize, last night’s result extended the streak to 40 consecutive drawings without a win.

The next drawing is Saturday.

The cash value stands at roughly $461.3 million. Winners can choose between that lump sum or annual payments totaling the full $1 billion.
