NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The temperature is already heating up at the Baha Mar Resort as preparations continue for its New Year’s Eve spectacular.

The soirée will feature the resort’s signature event, A Taste of Baha Mar, along with a performance by Spotify’s most-streamed dancehall artist of 2025, Sean Paul.

Sean Paul shared his excitement ahead of the event.

Sean Paul, Grammy Award-Winning Artist
“Yeah, it sounds like Baha Mar. We’re going to Mars on New Year’s Eve, like we’re going very far away.”

Sean Paul, crowned by Spotify as the most-streamed dancehall artist of 2025, first burst onto the scene in 1996 and became a household name with the release of his album “Dutty Rock.”

Denielle Miller
“That album has one of my favorite songs on it, and that’s ‘Punkie.’ And then, of course, that album also had ‘Gimmie the Light,’ ‘Make It Clap,’ ‘Get Busy’ and ‘Like Glue.’”

Despite international success, Sean Paul says one of his biggest challenges was preserving his Jamaican identity.

Sean Paul, Grammy Award-Winning Artist
“Mainstream America, sometimes the companies, they sign these artists and kind of want to put you in a cookie-cutter situation. They want the same stylist, the same shows, the same pictures, the same type of video. It doesn’t always translate or work. Caribbean people have a little difference to us.”

With nearly 30 years in the business and more than 15 billion streams, the artist says it has been an honor to share his culture.

Sean Paul, Grammy Award-Winning Artist
“That’s an awesome feeling. I have to just give thanks for that.”

Sean Paul will headline Baha Mar’s New Year’s Eve spectacular on Dec. 31, ringing in 2026 with music, culture and celebration.
