GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Members of the Free National Movement assembling in Grand Bahama expressing concern over the closure of Gold Rock.

Gold Rock and the Grand Bahama Port Authority have been going back and forth for several weeks now.

The FNM leader is calling on the government to step in urgently as the issue can impact the economy negatively.

Michael Pintard said there is an urgent need for the government to sit down with the key players in the issue, to come to a resolution.

The FNM leader says many families will have to now look for jobs. And, the decision by Gold Rock will have a domino effect on Grand Bahama.

Member of Parliament for East Grand Bahama Kwasi Thompson also weighing in on the issue. He says the move sends the wrong message to potential investors.
