Bahamas Flag Football Plays in World Flag Games

ORLANDO, U.S.A – The Bahamas Youth Flag Football League (BYFFL) had a strong showing in the World Flags Game tournament, with the U-15 coed team emerging with the No.1 overall seed on Friday after wins over VYRE out of New Jersey, Canada Toon Squad, Florida Legion, and Mexico’s Kansas Flag.

ORLANDO, U.S.A – The U-15 COED team had a strong showing in the tournament, which was held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

They went 4-0 emerging with the No.1 overall seed on Friday after wins over VYRE out of New Jersey, Canada Toon Squad, Florida Legion, and Mexico’s Kansas Flag.

They made it to the playoff round where they fell to THT out of New York 32-14.

It was tougher sledding for the U-16.

They finished the day 2-2 beating the 352 Legends Reapers from Florida and slime from Massachusetts, but falling to Canada Ace and the Rhode Island Raptors.

That was good for 9th place, which left them out of the playoff round.

Bahamians Ball Out in the NBA and in College

VJ Edgecombe had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in his Philadelphia 76ers’ 126-111 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Over in college, Deyton Albury and his New Mexico Lobos fought like crazy to overcome a 22-point first-half deficit.

However, at the end of the day, they beat Fresno State 80-78.

The 6’3″ guard from New Providence led the comeback effort scoring 21 points, two of which came on the go-ahead layup late in the 2nd half.

He grabbed 8 rebounds, both of which were team highs in the fur out comeback effort.

Rehma Collins recorded a double-double, logging 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Florida International University (FIU) to a 66-45 win over Liberty.

Donnie Freeman had 9 points and 7 rebounds in Syracuse’s 77-64 loss to North Carolina.

Fred King was honored on Murray State’s Senior Fay, and following that, King dropped 7 points and 4 rebounds in Murray State’s 88-75 blowout of Evansville.
