NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Thirty-one-year-old Terrance Roberts spent his summers visiting the beautiful island of Exuma, where his uncle owns a farm and the famous pig roast on Stocking Island.

He said it was just a few short years ago, when he had his “come to Jesus” moment, and that’s when the wheels began turning to birth Berkshire Bahamas Farm.

Berkshire Bahamas sits on 15 acres of land with roughly 200 animals. Roberts says as the demand is growing in the community, there are plans for expansion.

Roberts says while doing his market research, he discovered there was a desire for high quality product. Now his product is sold in local food stores and served in local restaurants, a feeling he says, is indescribable.

The farm was officially established in May 2019, just months before hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc on the island of Grand Bahama and contaminated the water systems. He considers this one of the most challenging times of his journey.

He notes that as an entrepreneur, you are often required to wear many hats within the business.
