NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Haitian man has been jailed for one year after he was found with a forged voter’s card, birth certificate and NIB card.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Haitian man has been jailed for one year after he was found with a forged voter’s card, birth certificate and NIB card.
Tyron Vernet received the sentence after pleading guilty to possession of forged documents and uttering forged documents when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Anishka Isaacs for trial.
Vernet was arrested after he presented the fake documents to an immigration officer in August 2025 while inquiring about the status of other Haitian nationals who had been detained.
Vernet was deported from the United States to Haiti in 2016.
He will be deported to Haiti once he completes his sentence.
