NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Family members and friends are still reeling from the shocking death of Omar Davis Jr., including a pastor from a community Davis grew up in.

Well-known figure in the Kemp Road community, Pastor Ivan Butler of Kemp Road Ministries says he had an opportunity to meet Davis when he was young boy.

Pastor Butler says that initial meeting prompted him to invite Davis to attend his church.

He says an offering was also given to Davis over the years to assist him with his college studies.

The religious leader says it’s hurtful to see a young man like Davis with such potential lose is life.

Police say the 21-year-old was found inside a garbage bag in the trunk of his black Honda Fit behind a grocery store in Centreville on Tuesday.

Four men between the ages of 20 and 56 were in custody assisting police with their investigations.

Pastor Butler says there has to be a way to address the challenges that exist with crime.
