GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The minister for Grand Bahama is shedding light on challenges facing some athletes in the NACAC track championships.
Grand Bahama Minister Ginger Moxey responding to claims about athlete accommodations at the NACAC track and field meet getting underway in Grand Bahama, acknowledging there were some challenges.
Sources telling Our News, Thursday, the accommodations were not up to par, with one athletes describing the living arrangements as “ghetto”. The athlete says the hotel had no hot water or air conditioning.
Moxey adding the local organizing team also had very little time to put the regional event together, but the minister says now all is well.
The championships got underway Friday morning with qualifying races and will continue into weekend.
