NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A policewoman who was manhandled by her boss has been awarded $50,250 in damages.

Superintendent Stephen Carey shoved Deborah Seymour into a pile of tiles, causing her to hit her head on August 30, 2021.

The incident happened at the Police Training College during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the day in question, Seymour reported for duty, but was unable to produce her vaccination card when Carey requested it.

Seymour was injured as Carey tried to forcibly remove her from the compound.

She was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, head injury and experiences pain in the right shoulder, arm, neck and spine.

According to Seymour, as a result she has lost her confidence and ability to perform romantic activities.

Assistant Supreme Court Registrar Akeira Martin assessed damages after the police force failed to defend the lawsuit.
