Mannie Fresh Set to Make Debut at Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club

Grammy-nominated rapper and producer Mannie Fresh, shared details of a recent conversation with his podcast co-host and Cash Money Records labelmate, Juvenile, about his upcoming performance at Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club at Baha Mar.

The shows are set for August 19th and 20th.

For Mannie Fresh, the performances will mark not only his debut at the Jazz Club, but his first time performing in the Bahamas.

And he says he’s ready to embrace the local culture.

“The biggest thing for me is to go embrace the culture and meet people and see faces. I’m that type of person, so I can’t wait.”

Known for helping shape Southern hip-hop and New Orleans bounce, Mannie Fresh has spent more than four decades building a catalogue that became the soundtrack for many fans of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

And he says it’s still surreal to see his music resonating decades later.

“I’m blessed, you know, to have songs that survived like 25, 30 years. So I’m blessed every day. It’s crazy, ’cause I can walk in a Foot Locker or a restaurant and somebody will play one of my songs, like, and that’s an incredible feeling.”

Now, he’s bringing those classic sounds to the Jazz Club stage, along with a few surprises.

Mannie Fresh says fans can expect more than just New Orleans flavor.
