NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A recent altercation between two Free National Movement supporters outside a council meeting is now subject to a police investigation.

That’s according to Party Chairman Dr. Duane Sands after a man said to be a supporter of former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis reportedly assaulted an FNM meritorious council member.

The member reportedly spoke about the former prime minister’s governance.

Dr. Sands tells Our News his party stands against violence.

Our News understands the man who was beaten has since been released from hospital after receiving injuries to the face and mouth. He is said to be a supporter of Party Leader Michael Pintard.

Dr. Sands responding to spectators who say there remains a division in the party.
