Man Accused of Threatening Police During Shantytown Demolition Granted Bail
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Jameslee Albrum threatened ASP Forrester Carroll with death, prosecutors allege. He denied making the death threats, but admitted to using obscene language and behaving in a disorderly manner at his arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Haitian man accused of threatening a policeman during last week’s demolition of the Montgomery shantytown has been granted bail.
Jameslee Albrum threatened ASP Forrester Carroll with death, prosecutors allege.
He denied making the death threats, but admitted to using obscene language and behaving in a disorderly manner at his arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville.
According to Albrum, he got upset when officers stopped him from retrieving his belongings prior to the demolition.
However, he was adamant that he never made any death threats.
Albrum, who says he was born in The Bahamas and has a pending application for citizenship, was granted $9,000 bail.
He returns to court for trial in September.
