Walcott Makes Successful Return From Injury

UNITED STATES – Sebastian Walcott is back. The Texas Rangers’ top prospect made his return to Double-A Frisco on Friday night after missing the first half of the season while recovering from ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) surgery, which followed a right elbow flexor strain suffered during the 2025 Arizona Fall League.

The injury initially ended his Fall League after just one game before doctors later determined surgery was necessary during spring training.

Walcott wasted little time making an impact in his return.

The 20-year-old finished 1-for-4, recorded a stolen base, scored a run, and returned to his usual spot in the infield as the Frisco RoughRiders continued their Texas League season.

Before rejoining Frisco, Walcott completed a short rehabilitation assignment in the Arizona Complex League, where he showed he was ready to return by going 1-for-3 with a double in his first game back.

Considered one of the top prospects in all of baseball, Walcott will now look to pick up where he left off as he continues his push toward a future Major League debut.

Team Bahamas is returning home with a medal.

The Bahamian Little League All-Stars closed out their 2026 Caribbean Series campaign with an 11-6 victory over Bonaire to capture the bronze medal at the tournament in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico.

The Caribbean Series serves as the region’s qualifier for the Little League World Series, bringing together champion teams from across the Caribbean.

The Bahamas put together an impressive tournament, finishing 3-2 in round-robin play to earn the fourth seed.

The Bahamians opened with a 7-6 win over the U.S. Virgin Islands, followed that with a 3-1 victory over host Puerto Rico, suffered losses to Bonaire (8-4) and Aruba (1-0), before routing the Puerto Rico champions 17-0 to clinch a playoff berth.

That set up a semifinal matchup against the top-seeded Dominican Republic, where The Bahamas fell short of reaching the championship game.

However, the team responded with one of its best performances of the tournament, defeating Bonaire 11-6 in the bronze medal game to avenge its earlier loss and secure a podium finish.

The bronze medal represents another strong international showing for Bahamas Little League Baseball and continues the country’s proud tradition of competing among the Caribbean’s elite.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. delivered when the New York Yankees needed him most, blasting a go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Bronx Bombers to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second game of a day-night doubleheader.

With the game tied 1-1, Chisholm turned on a 97-mile-per-hour fastball from Dodgers reliever Evan Phillips, driving it 401 feet to left-center field for his 14th home run of the season. The blast left his bat at 105.3 miles per hour and proved to be the game-winner.

The win gave the Yankees just their second victory in their last 11 home games and helped them earn a split of the doubleheader after losing the opener 8-2.

Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo continued her impressive return to the international stage with a third-place finish in the women’s 200 meters at the London Diamond League on Saturday.

Miller-Uibo crossed the line in 22.24 seconds, finishing behind Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred, who set a meet record of 21.66 seconds, and American world champion Gabby Thomas, who clocked 21.81 seconds.

The performance marks another positive step for the Bahamian star, who has continued to build momentum during her 2026 comeback campaign.

Over her last three races, Miller-Uibo has won the Star Athletics Sprint Series 200 meters in Florida, captured the Boris Hanžeković Memorial title in Croatia with a season-best 22.10 seconds, and now stood on the podium at one of the world’s premier track and field meets.
