GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahama residents are already beginning to prep for the impact of rain bands they will experience from Hurricane Ian.

In a special statement issued on Tuesday by the Department of Meteorology, it noted that Hurricane Ian will bring heavy rain, severe thunderstorms with dangerous lightening, gusty winds and possible tornado activity to Bimini, Grand Bahama, Abaco, the Berry Islands and Andros.

The department noted that total rainfall amounts of four to six inches are expected with up to eight inches through Friday.
