Man Battles Three Types Of Cancers

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 72 year old Ivan Francis has battled and conquered three types of cancers. He was diagnosed with two forms of cancer at the same time.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – We continue our efforts on highlighting cancer survivors and although October is usually recognized as Breast Cancer awareness month, we are featuring one man that has battled and conquered three types of cancers!

Being diagnosed with cancer can be a blow enough, but imagine, being diagnosed with two forms of cancer at the same time.

What about finding a third cancer one year later while undergoing treatment for the first two? Well, that was reality for 72 year old Ivan Francis in 2002.

Francis says he couldn’t bear the daily pain and showed up to the hospital constantly for weeks until he was admitted.

He says it was a long and rough recovery journey, in and out of the hospital. One year later, while at a follow up, Francis was hit with another blow

Francis, now full of life and energy, says he gives all glory to God for where he is today.

He says he’s also grateful to his team of physicians

Francis says he hasn’t worked for 17 years, but dedicates his time to various cancer support groups and charitable organizations throughout the island.
