UNITED KINGDOM – Retired Jamaican sprinting legend Usain Bolt will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at BBC Sports Personality of The Year on December 21st.

The world 100 meter and 200 meter record holder retired after the 2017 World Championships in London, where he ended his lightening fast career with bronze in the men’s 100 meter.

The 36-year-old was crowned Olympic 100 meter and 200 meter champion at three successive games – Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio 2016.

He is the only athlete to win both the 100 meter and 200 meter at three consecutive Olympics.

Two years after he retired in 2019, bolt told a crowd attending a tech forum in Mexico City that he hoped to hold onto his world records for a very long time.
