NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s one of the most watched sections of the Junkanoo parade. When the choreographed sections hit the parade it’s up to them to sway the fans and the judges with one-of-a-kind routines. Following a two-year break, dancers say they’re ready promising spectacular performances.

It’s the clash of the showtime sections. It’s a stiff competition between the groups to see who brings the best choreography, and energy.

Shell Saxons Superstars choreographer Jerry Pierre promises something different.

The Saxons are the defending champions, a title Pierre says they’re looking to defend But other groups aren’t going without a fight.

Valley Boys choreographer Dr. Myrez Williams says this time around they’re focusing on areas that previously got no attention.

The Roots Showtime girls say they’re eager for a win.

Genesis Chair of the Choreographing Board says it’s been a challenge getting back in the swing of things following that two-year break. She says this year will be something special.

One Family contends the two-year break had no impact.
