NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two former prime ministers are calling for “proactive conduct” by government on immigration, as well as answers on policy matters.

Former Prime Minister Perry Christie tells Our News, “as long as there is economic turmoil in Haiti, you will find an increasing need for the people of Haiti to escape,” noting The Bahamas is one of those destinations.

“There is no short answer to it,” he adds, “the need for proactive conduct on behalf of The Bahamas Government.”

Likewise, former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis is questioning where the Davis administration stands on immigration policies that may impact the construction industry and government contracts.
