UNITED STATES – The White House says President Joe Biden ordered a U.S. fighter jet shoot down a high-altitude object that was the size of a small car over Alaska on Friday.

White House Spokesperson John Kirby told reporters it was unclear where the object came from and that many details were unknown about the object. Kriby says the United States expected to recover the object after it landed in the U.S. territorial waters.
