DPM: Tourist Arrivals Up 150% in January
ABACO, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas experiencing more than 150 percent uptick in visitor arrivals in January, as tourism officials work to secure more airlift to the Family Islands.
ABACO, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas experiencing more than 150 percent uptick in visitor arrivals in January, as tourism officials work to secure more airlift to the Family Islands.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Chester Cooper says tourist arrivals for the month of January exceeded the same period in 2022.
The Ministry of Tourism recorded over 7 million tourist arrivals for 2022.
Cooper acknowledges the direct link between tourism arrivals and airlift, which he says is on the rise.
The DPM made the revelation on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony for a more than $352 million development for Montage Cay, Abaco.
He says airlift to that island is expected to rise, which is significant as the island continues its rebound post-hurricane Dorian.
