NASSAU, BAHAMAS – One of the men killed in a double murder in Fox Hill, Monday night, was on bail as a suspect in six murders, according to the National Security Minister.

In recent months, several people released on bail have suffered a similar fate. It’s an issue National Security Minister Wayne Munroe says they’re working to address.

Police have expressed concerns saying once they have captured the alleged suspects, and they’re brought before the courts, in no time, some of those individuals are back to committing serious crimes.

Munroe says police intelligence is compiling the evidence needed to present to the court to avoid releasing suspects for murder related charges on bail.

Fast tracking court cases for swifter justice has also been an issue of concern.

However, Munroe says he’s pleased to see that the Chief Justice is seeking to make steps to address the vexing problem of moving cases forward.
