NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Following an internal probe into millions of dollars in assets missing from the Disaster Reconstruction Authority, Executive Chairman Alex Storr says the matter will now be subject to a police investigation.

Storr told reporters on Monday an audit of the DRA has been completed, which will be turned over to police, among other matters.

The issue of missing DRA assets first surfaced in October 2022.

A month prior to the revelation, police seized items said to be the property of the DRA from Friendship Tabernacle Church in Abaco, pastored by Silbert Mills.

When contacted, former DRA Chairman John Michael Clarke said he was unaware of any reports of missing assets during his tenure, adding, the operations arm did its best to ensure everything was accounted for.

In January, Storr revealed that $250,000 dollars worth of missing items were never accounted for.

Storr says that figure is what’s known in missing assets.
