NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Many knew him as a man of business. Eldred “Ed’ Bethel planned his memorial service to the tee. Despite serving as a Statesman for the country on several occasions, the giant of a man and veteran broadcaster did not want any fan fare.

On Friday, a memorial service, which was planned by Bethel was held in his honour at his church Saint Marys the Virgin Anglican Church, where some of his favorite hymns were sung by those who gathered to remember the distinguished diplomat.

His granddaughters Eryn and Selyna Bellot remembered him fondly.

The memorial service was so planned to a tee – Canon Harry ward spoke to how Bethel wanted the homily to be done by the late Canon Warren Rolle.

Ward recited part of Bethel’s favorite bible verse.
