NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After months of delay, The Ministry of Health released the monthly covid-19 case and vaccine status report for February 2023.

Those results indicate that there were 80 new COVID cases that includes 44 men and 36 women who had positive RT-PCR tests.

But that delay isn’t sitting well with former Health Minister Dr. Duane Sands, who is tonight calling for greater transparency.

In December of last year, The Ministry of Health and Wellness determined that the daily COVID-19 dashboard and weekly vaccination tracker would be combined and published monthly.

However, the ministry in a statement admitted that due to what they’re calling unavoidable circumstances, the cycle reporting was delayed.

The statement also revealing cases for the month of march will be released in a few days and monthly reports for December 2022 and January 2023 will follow shortly after.

However, Dr. Sands believes the delay sends the wrong message.
