Creatives Step up on OUR TV

The OUR TV Originals show Goombay Kids – made for Bahamians, by Bahamians – is making waves.

Lanthro Munroe is the co-executive producer and director on the latest season of the show.

He says he met creator, Stephanie Nihon on another project and pitched her the idea to bring something new to the show.

“I pitched her the idea of making [Goombay Kids] a little bit more scripted. I felt like adding that element to it would take it to the next level,” Munroe recalled. With that, he put his directing, producing and camera skills to work.

When the new season aired in 2021, Munroe says they hoped audiences were blown away.

Munroe wasn’t always a creative – he started working in his father’s auto shop at a younger age but felt a calling to pursue filmmaking. His advice to anyone who is considering a creative career path is to put in the work and be disciplined.
