NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A teacher in need of a kidney transplant is staying positive as she fights an uphill battle to raise money for her operation while still inspiring others.

Brenique Conliffe is an educator who has been battling diabetes and renal failure.

The journey, she says, has been a tough one but she says speaking her truth now has been liberating.

Now away from the classroom due to her condition, she describes what normal life looks like.

As a result of her stage five renal failure, Brenique’s kidneys are now operating at five percent.

Now she is in need of a kidney transplant that will costs her thousands of dollars.

Despite the bleak outlook, Bernique is positive and ready to give back after she bounces back.
