NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man accused of threatening the life of Prime Minister Philip Davis has been accused of violating his bail 10 times.

Prosecutors say 22-year-old Isaac Roberts failed to charge his ankle monitor on ten occasions, a condition of his threats of death charge.

Roberts denied the allegations at his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

Prosecutors tried to have Roberts remanded to prison, claiming that the alleged violations showed he was not a fit candidate for bail.

However, Roberts’ lawyer Bjorn Ferguson said the charges were only accusations and that Roberts was presumed innocent.

According to Ferguson, the monitoring devices are defective and the contract ought to be reviewed.

Magistrate McKinney granted Roberts $5,000 bail and set a September 11 trial date.
