NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In the 2023/2024 Budget Communication, Prime Minister Philip Davis announced that funds had been allocated for a new women’s shelter.

With a rise in domestic violence, the possibility of a new shelter for women needing a place to find refuge and security is a proposal welcomed by different stakeholders in society.

State Minister for Social Services and Urban Renewal says she’s on board.
