“There’s Still a Lot of Work to Do”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The state of Downtown Nassau is in the spotlight once again.

A stakeholder meeting with tourism officials was held to discuss and formulate a plan of action to address numerous issues that plague the area.

The overall look and feel of Downtown Nassau has been an issue for successive governments. But officials from the Ministry of Tourism have begun consulting with businesses owners and other stakeholders operating downtown, to address the current state and future development.

Global Relations Consultant in the ministry Randy Rolle says partnerships are key in fixing the issues.

A few weeks ago, Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander reaffirmed law enforcement’s commitment to protecting the downtown area by providing additional resources and manpower.

Rolle says this is something stakeholders have seen and appreciated.

And as for other infrastructural issues in the area.

Rolle shares that despite strides made, there’s still a lot of work to be done.
