UNITED STATES – Deandre Ayton was on pace for his best game of the series, but his Los Angeles Lakers were unable to close out the Houston Rockets on the road after a 115–96 loss at the Toyota Center.

Ayton finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 75 percent from the field in just 25 minutes.

His night ended early after he was ejected in the third quarter for a flagrant two foul on Alperen Sengun.

The ejection was indicative of how the Lakers competed all night. They fell behind early and trailed by nine at the half, but were undone in the third following Ayton’s ejection, getting outscored 34–18.

VJ Edgecombe had a tough night as the Philadelphia 76ers suffered a blowout loss in Game 4 of their playoff series against the Boston Celtics.

All-Star center Joel Embiid was back in the lineup, but Boston rolled to a 128–96 victory at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia to take control of the series, 3–1.

Edgecombe picked up five fouls and finished with just six points on 2-of-9 shooting, including 0-of-4 from three-point range.

The off night comes on the heels of his historic Game 2 performance, where he knocked down six three-pointers. Since then, he has gone cold from long range, going 0 for his last 11 from beyond the arc.

The series now shifts back to TD Garden in Boston for a crucial Game 5 Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
