NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Would you know what to do if threatened by a dog attack? Dog trainer Clifton Bowe is speaking out with a few tips on how you can protect yourself if attacked.

After a woman was mauled by dogs in her neighborhood, dog trainer and owner of K9 College, Clifton Bowe, is calling on dog owners to take responsibility for their pets.

The pit bull breed usually gets a bad rap for its aggressiveness. But Bowe says these dogs are not inherently ferocious. Training plays a big part.

Though a dog attack can be unpredictable and scary, Bowe says there are somethings you can do to if you are attacked.

Bowe says roaming or loose dogs in your community should be reported to animal control or the K9 department.
