NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Government intends to repeal and replace the Commercial Enterprises Act when parliament reconvenes on October 4th.
The attorney general revealing as much Tuesday to reporters ahead of the weekly cabinet meeting.
The Commercial Enterprises Act was introduced by the Minnis administration back in 2017.
The current act seeks to liberalize the granting of work permits to an enterprise that wishes to establish itself in The Bahamas, and requires work permits for its management team and key personnel.
Pinder asserts the bill will be repealed and replaced with a bill that focuses exclusively on economic development and empowerment zones.
